⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This old quilt. Her q ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This old quilt.
Her quilt.

Covered me as a child, tucked tight and secure in my bed. The weight of it surrounding me with safety and love.

Made into makeshift couch-beds for teenage sleepovers with friends, laughing all night trying to figure out life.

Eventually, spread out on the floor for precious grand babies to sit on and play, as adoring adults laid beside them staring into the wonder of their little faces and bright eyes.

Then, to one day become the favourite quilt at the cottage. Wrapped up bodies around the fire with sticky s’mores fingers telling stories as laughter rippled across the river. The grown up family, still needing that cozy familiar covering.

And now, after all those seasons, the worn quilt is with her now. Back where it belongs. The familiar fabric covering her each night in her unfamiliar bed.

The quilt she used all her life to surround us with. A patchwork of love, memories and moments stitched together- now resting on her as she sleeps.

Wrapping her up. Now she’s safe and secure. The memories of all the ones she loves tucking in around her.

I noticed it’s fraying, and coming a little apart at the seams, but aren’t we all?

And it’s just an old quilt, but it also tells a story of her life. Of our family’s life lived.

I’ll spread it out on my floor one day too, and keep telling all of my people, the story of her. 💗

Hi Friends!!! ⭐️💗🎉

Book release for The Longest Goodbye is coming up fast! We are less than 5 months away, which seems long, but we all know life basically flies by!

I’m still working on those pre-orders, and I’d be so grateful if you’d still consider doing that! (link in bio) It’s so helpful for a first-time author like myself.

AND, if you’d consider sharing this post on your stories to help spread the word that would be extra-amazing!!!

It’s hard to explain all the emotions around this book, especially in the last weeks. But I truly believe that sharing our story so that others know they aren’t alone, is an important calling - for all of us.

Thank you for helping me do that. 💗
