Love with all you have, and don’t hold back.

Keep looking for gifts even when you feel like your heart may break.

I never wanted to walk this goodbye journey. I decided, though, that the love I had always received would be the love that I’d keep giving back.

I refused to let a lifetime of joy be taken from me, so instead, I went looking for all that I could hold onto.

And I have so much, my heart will always be full. Nothing can take away all that I’ve gathered.

The tree is sparkling, and the music is playing. I sit quietly by the tree, I’m not sure how to celebrate Christmas without her.

She’s been at every Christmas I’ve ever had. Making everything Merry & Bright. Even when she didn’t know the seasons, we’d decorate the tree and hang the lights and surround her with everything she always loved.

Christmas was where she was. Her presence the most-wished for gift.

I want her back.

I sometimes wondered deep in my heart, would this be the year? The last time we’d sit by the tree? I’d shake my head no. Wishing that mothers would live forever.

Because shouldn’t they? How can it be asked of us to say such a painful goodbye?

But now it’s here. I don’t have a mom for Christmas anymore, and the days are not as bright.

But I hold onto hope.
I reach out for peace.
I look to the light.

The true light that gives light has come to the world. He WILL come into all our empty spaces and grief-filled places.

To a daughter with no mom, looking for peace. I need Him to come.

And for all of us.

To all the places where we ourselves are broken and need hope. Where it feels dark, we can look to His light. ⭐️

We are never alone.

His light, shines bright.
